TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —
Gov. Ron Desantis has issued an executive order extending Florida’s state of emergency due to the coronavirus for another 60 days.
The state of emergency was first issued in mid-March. DeSantis said at the time the declaration would bring the state funds that would help Florida mobilize resources more effectively.
The state of emergency was then extended for 60 days in mid-May.
The state confirmed 7,300 new virus cases Tuesday, bringing the total to almost 214,000. Another 63 people died, bringing the total to almost 4,000.
