Star Wars fans rejoice! The much anticipated trailer of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is FINALLY coming out! While Disney did release a teaser trailer back at the Star Wars Celebration in April and another special look preview at D23 in August, fans have been waiting to get a little more on the latest in the series.
The official Star Wars account announced on Twitter that the final trailer will air live tonight during Monday Night Football on ESPN. After getting a peek, immediately head over to Fandango and purchase tickets!
It’s not lost on fans that today, October 21st, would have been Carrie Fisher’s 63rd birthday. Fisher, who played Princess Leia, died suddenly in 2016, will appear in the movie via use of previously unseen footage.
In a statement from Erik DAvis, Fandango Managing Editor, “It’s the end of an era, and fans cannot wait to see the epic conclusion to the Skywalker saga that began more than four decades ago. ‘The Rise of Skywalker’is truly among the biggest and most anticipated films ever, and we are beyond excited to see how this momentous chapter in ‘Star Wars’ storytelling nears its end.”
The game tonight is between the New England Patriots and New York Jets and kickoff is at 8:15 pm. The trailer is expected to be shown at halftime so make sure you tune in so you don’t miss it.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens December 20th worldwide.
