Earlier today, I shared America’s favorite sandwiches. No surprise that the list was topped with the delicious grilled cheese. While Americans do love a simple sandwich, some sandwich combinations have me scratching my head, thanks to a tweet from the New York Times.
Back in 2018, the New York Times tweeted a recipe for a sandwich that was originally published in 2012, which pairs peanut butter and pickles, and claimed that it was good. Dwight Garner, who penned the article, wrote, ” The vinegary snap of the pickles tempers the unctuousness of the peanut butter, and it’s an unusual pantry sandwich for when luncheon meats leave you cold.”

I’ve heard of peanut butter and banana, peanut butter and mayonnaise, and peanut butter and marshmallow fluff, but not peanut butter and pickles. I’m not a pickle fan so it’s a no go for me. Would you try it? Let me know!
